Image Props–Watercolor people

A Vectorworks image prop is a thin flat 3-D object with an image-based texture applied to it. An image prop has unique properties: it can be made to auto-rotate toward the viewer (no more renderings with inappropriately thin objects in profile),it can have constant reflectivity to avoid being affected by shade and shadows, and it can have a transparent background so that only the imaged object itself is seen.

These collections of Vectorworks image props have been carefully prepared to provide the best combination of size, sharpness and color. They are based on original photos taken in public locations. Each photo was then put through a complex, 10-step photo-editing process in Adobe Photoshop, converting it to the appearance of a watercolor painting.

When seen from a distance, the image props have enough detail to appear as photos. But when seen in close-up, the watercolor character of the image is seen clearly. Apart from the unusual and pleasing combination of watercolor-based entourage with a photo-realistic rendering, the artistic modification alters the person's appearance enough to avoid identification, a desirable quality in any presentation drawing shown in public.

The image props in this collection are prepared from digital images between 450 and 600 pixels in height; providing good detail without excessive memory demands. Each image prop is adjusted for auto-rotation (always facing the camera), with a constant reflectivity texture, and saved as a symbol so that it can be accessed from other files via the Vectorworks Resource Browser palette.

These image props are ready to go as soon as the files arrive and are unzipped. Package 1 contains 20 image props of people standing and walking. Package 2 contains 17 image props of people standing, walking and talking (including children), and 3 image props of dogs, doing what they do best. In addition, one of the people image props also contains two dogs, as seen in the ilustration at left.

Note: these image props are for Vectorworks/Renderworks 10, 11 and 11.5 only, and can also be used with VectorWorks 12. You must have RenderWorks installed, and some familiarity with the image props concept (as explained in VectorWorks Help).
